ROCKET Air Ambulance carried out several critical missions over the past weekend

During the weekend, ROCKET Air Ambulance and their exceptionally skilled aeromedical crews and pilots were called on to provide support to ground crews in various trauma emergencies in Gauteng and the Northern Cape regions.



ROCKET 5 was activated from our Gauteng base to carry out a critical mission involving a 58-year-old male who suffered multiple injuries in a motorcycle accident. The patient was swiftly transported by air from Ventersdorp and transferred to a specialized facility in Johannesburg for additional medical attention.


Following this, ROCKET 5 was promptly dispatched to Witkoppen Road in response to a severe motor vehicle accident. A 30-year-old patient with a critical head injury was stabilised at the scene before being airlifted to a Johannesburg facility dedicated to specialized care.


ROCKET 1, stationed at our Kimberley base, was mobilized for a critical mission to Orania involving an 87-year-old female patient experiencing a Cerebral Vascular Accident. The patient was stabilised at the scene and was subsequently transported by air to a specialized facility in Kimberley for further treatment and care.


In a separate incident, ROCKET 7 was deployed for an inter-facility transfer of a patient in Upington who was facing a life-threatening cardiac condition. The highly skilled aeromedical crew provided continuous advanced life support care during the journey to a specialized facility in Bloemfontein.
